*sigh*

Well, I saw Knockaround Guys this afternoon. Now I am all depressed. It feels like a movie written by two guys – one guy wanted to write a great comedy film with gangsters in it, and the other wanted to write a serious film about the inherent tragedy of organized crime. Unfortunately, the compromised a lot and so the film never really commits to either genre and is merely a mishmash. The acting is great but the characters are typical 2-dimensional comedy types (The Ladies’ Man, The Tough Guy, The Dummy, etc) and that keeps the drama from working.
Feh.
It makes me depressed. I want to go see The Transporter to get the bad taste out of my mouth. I’d been looking forward to Knockaround Guys for years. Literally. I first heard about it like three years ago when Vin Diesel first got cast. *sigh*
