Dammit

I had a nifty entry here about the new, extended version of Lord of the Rings but accidentally deleted it. Drat.
Basically: the new version totally rules, I have forgiven Jackson for the things he mucked up because watching the new stuff woven in with the old was like watching it for the first time all over again.
Also, I had an interesting insight: I think the reason that the little mistakes bug me so much is that the rest of the movie is so perfect. My brain gets into “rereading the Book” mode and then gets jarred by the errors. it’s like rereading a favorite book in another edition and finding a page missing.
