PromoGuy’s Monday Mission 3.32

This week’s Monday Mission.

  1. Have you ever been looking forward to something so badly that you were just crushed when it never happened?
Oh, gosh, yes. I’m really good at psyching myself up, even if I consciously tell myself not to get psyched up. Then when things don’t come through, I’m all broken up about it. This is particularly bad when I’m PMSing. Stupid hormones.

  2. Have you ever been told about a wonderful present that you were never given? Maybe they went as far as telling you exactly what it was, how wonderful it would be and how much they would have loved for you to have it, but for whatever reason, they wouldn’t be giving it to you after all? How did you feel about that?
    Hm… no.

  3. What is the longest time you’ve ever kept a secret from someone, or, are you still keeping it? How did it feel to keep it so long? Can you think of a situation you were in where a secret should never have been told?
I’m not sure about the longest time, although I am currently keeping either out-and-out secrets or “discreet” secrets for a number of people. I’m always torn between loving to know things (damnable curiousity) and hating to not be able to share. However, I take it very seriously when someone tells me something should be kept secret, so… yeah.
I have been in situations where I knew secrets that definitely shouldn’t be told, and have not told them. I don’t think I’ve ever been around a secret that should’ve been kept and wasn’t, either as a revealer or a bystander.

  4. Have you ever been lied to by someone you trust with all your heart? How did it feel when you found out that trust had been broken?
    Thankfully, no.

  5. When, if ever, is it acceptable to tell a lie? Are “white lies” any different than the “real whoppers?”
Hm… well, I think white lies are okay, but I also think lots of people are broader in their definition of “white lie” than they should be. I mean, fibbing to someone to get them to a surprise birthday party is acceptable. Fibbing to someone about their new haircut when they’re honestly asking your opinion: not acceptable. Not a mortal sin, either, but still, not good.

  6. How are you on forgiveness? Are you able to easily forgive someone who’s hurt you?
Not unless I have compelling reasons. If I’m really good friends with them, or in love with them, yeah, I can forgive them. Usually pretty easily, too. But if they’ve broken off communication with me or weren’t that good a friend to begin with, no. I am still pissed off at my former best friend for the way he stopped being my friend back in second grade, and that was years ago. I doubt he even remembers. Bastard.

  7. When I’m feeling down, or have no energy Dead or Alive’s “You Spin Me Round (Like A Record)” never fails to perk me up and get me going. What song gets your feet going and your energy flowing?
Hm… almost anything by The Hives or the Red Elvises or the Phenomenauts.
