This week’s Friday Five.
- Are you superstitious?
Not particularly. - What extremes have you heard of someone going to in the name of superstition?
Hm… nothing springs to mind, although when I adopted Zephyr it was partly because he’s a black kitty and many folks won’t adopt black cats. His littermates pretty much all had homes, but nobody wanted him. He’s a little sweetie, by the way, and not bad luck at all. - Believer or not, what’s your favorite superstition?
The one about opening umbrellas inside. It’s obviously bad luck to do that – you’re far more likely to break things by bumping ’em with the umbrella! It’s such a practical superstition. - Do you believe in luck? If yes, do you have a lucky number/article of clothing/ritual?
I do believe in luck, although I don’t have any rituals around it at the moment. I used to wear buttons with silly sayings on them in high school, though. Why? Because one week I wore buttons every day but one and that one day, one of the omnipresent seagulls on campus crapped on me. I wore buttons every day after that and was never crapped on again. Hah. - Do you believe in astrology? Why or why not?
Sorta. With a grain of salt. Mostly because enough of it has been creepily true that it’s hard not to take it at least a quarter seriously.
