This week’s Wednesday Whatevers.
- What is the biggest problem in today’s society?
Hm… I’d say a lack of mental flexibility, a lack of empathy, a lack of education. Fundamentalists of all stripes refuse to see things from anyone else’s way but their own, and there are many misconceptions around the world about all kinds of things. Hell, here in the US I think the crime problem would be half solved if we could get decent funding for schools in poor urban areas. - How does algebra relate to daily life?
Depends on what you’re doing. If you want to build almost anything it’s really useful (yay, Pythagorean theorem!). If you’re trying to calculate how much you need to save each month to have enough to buy a car in a year, it’s helpful too. - What do you use the computer for most.
Writing – either writing email or writing articles.
