This week’s Whatevers, a little early. Hooray for me. I’m on the ball, for once.
- Are exceptions fair?
They can be. They aren’t always, though. - Do you think teen movies depict the real teenage world?
Don’t make me laugh. There may be overlaps, but I doubt they’re any more accurate now than they were when I was a teenager. - How do you feel about the world’s overpopulation?
I take it seriously. I think it’s a major problem. The planet is already overburdened with humankind, and the more people there are the more babies there are, so it only gets worse. We need to find a way to help people who don’t really want kids very much to NOT HAVE KIDS. I’m all in favor of free/cheap birth control, available and safe abortions, the morning after pill, etc etc etc. I’m also in favor of people having small families and am strongly tempted to be in favor of the removal of tax benefits for having kids. If you get a deduction for every child you support, it’s only going to encourage you to have more kids. Duh. And I definitely think that people should stop hassling their kids to have kids! Seriously! If someone isn’t sure they want to reproduce, they probably shouldn’t reproduce.Yes, this is a kind of touch subject for me. It’s true. :)
