OK, I missed the FF last week, so here’s last week’s since there are no new questions today (at least, not yet).
- How often do you get sick?
Semi-regularly. I get colds once or twice a year, but usually that’s about it. I have enough chronic problems, though, that sometimes it seems like I’m always sick (, , what appears to be a mild case of interstitial cystitis, allergies…) - Do you take a lot of over the counter medicine?
Oh, hell yes. Ever since a doctor prescribed me 2400 mg of over-the-counter ibuprofen a day (that’s 12 pills, for y’all playing at home), I have been a huge fan of ibuprofen. I take much less than that now, of course. I also take glucosamine with chondroitin – that joint supplement stuff. I know it helps because when I run out, my joints all ache and are much more prone to getting really painful. I take Tylenol for headaches, excedrine migraine for baby migraines (I have prescription meds for real migraines), and Tylenol sinus when I have a sinus headache. - Have you ever been in the hospital for an extended period of time?
Three days, to remove my exciting Dermoid Ovarian Cyst. That link is to the page I did about it. I’m all better now. The scar is practically invisible! - Are there any diseases that run in your family?
Heart disease, both sides. Ovarian cysts, I think. Alzheimer’s. Diabetes has started cropping up, so I’m being careful and watching my weight. - What is the best remedy for the common cold?
Lots and lots of sleep. I tend to beef that up with echinacea tea (usually with honey and lemon in it). The echinacea may or may hot help herb-wise, but the honey and lemon juice certainly makes my throat feel better.
