Now I know how telemarketers feel.

I’ve essentially given up on sending out carefully crafted cover letters to small papers, asking them to look over my clips and give me a shot.
I am now cold-calling editors. I got a list of weekly papers in California, and am working my way down in alphabetical order.
So far, I have called four. Three weren’t available and one said they already have a reviewer and don’t even want to see my clips.
Grr!
*deep breaths*
I just have to be patient and keep trying. I just know there’s a paper out there that needs a reviewer! There has to be! Heck, I bet there’s more than one, I just have to find them. I’m eliminating the ones I know have in-house reviewers right now by checking their websites (if they have one), but that still leaves me a lot to call.
