The last 24 hours have been pretty darn impressive. Since yesterday morning I have…
- …met Antwon and GeekyChick at Coffee Society for a Blogger Meetup (Dad came along too). These are cool people – Antwon has tshirts with his domain name (it’s how Dad spotted him, heh) and introduced me to Hello Cthulhu. GeekyChick actually hung out with Wil Wheaton and his wife and had photos on her totally amazing laptop to prove it. We babbled at each other for over four hours, and a good time was had by all. I hope some of their coolness rubbed off on me. Oddly enough, neither of the hosts of the event showed up, just those of us who’d signed up to attend. Heh.
- …bludgeoned and deceived my health insurance into reinstating me after my last payment was late. The less said about this the better, except to note that what with my upcoming surgery this was of vital importance.
- …learned that I won the Adult Fiction division of San Jose Metaphysical Bookshop‘s first annual writing competition. They printed an excerpt of my story in their newsletter, and
- …gotten two articles published in The Milpitas Post (in the physical edition, though, not online).
- …gotten the arrangements for the first of a series of freelance articles for The Milpitas Post confirmed. I’m actually going to get PAID to write a bunch of articles about obscure hobby groups. How cool is THAT?
