A chance meeting leads to a date between Zoli and Eszti, which they both eventually have to admit was a bad idea. Once the weight of trying to impress each other is off their shoulders, they can start to truly communicate — which comes with both costs and rewards once Eszti’s brother comes home and a series of revelations are drawn out of all three people. This is a film that feels almost like a play, with most of the action taking place in a single room with just the three central characters present. Spot-on performances and tightly crafted dialog make this Hungarian film required viewing for fans of intelligent, emotionally honest filmmaking.
