Jacob’s life is simple. He works nights as a security guard and spends days inside his lightproofed apartment painting the sun he can never see because of his skin disorder. As he nears his twenty-fifth birthday, though, things start changing. He’s always hungry no matter how much he eats, for one thing. When he meets Mary, a sweet but somewhat troubled bartender, their mutual attraction is immediate — but can he have a relationship when people around him are turning up murdered? This is a quiet, thoughtful take on an old tale, and those who enjoy character dramas and old-fashioned horror movies shouldn’t miss it.
