This thesis is the direct result of my studies of Rochester's work both at Oxy, with Professor Warren Montag, and at the University of York in England, with Professor Jason Scott-Warren. I'd like to thank both of them for giving me insight into the Earl's work, and an appreciation of his ability.
Of course, my Thesis would just be a dream without my Supervisor, Professor Anne Howells. Many thanks to her, for agreeing to work with me when nobody else had the time or the guts to, and for all her help and encouragement.
Many thanks to my friends and family as well, for their support and good-natured skepticism, which is sometimes the best kind of encouragement.
